Rhysalin Shado, MA-CMHC

Rhysalin is a MA-CMHC graduate working toward licensure under the direct supervision of Breanna Turner, MSW, LCSW. Rhysalin is committed to providing for the mental health needs of clients aged 18 and older. Her goal is to foster an environment of security and support that allows both client and counselor the opportunity to explore individual needs and preferences.

Rhysalin’s current clinical work has included treatment of depression, anxiety, grief related difficulties, and gender and sexual diversity struggles, particularly within the LGBTQIA+ community. Her values lean heavily toward education, family (biological or chosen), and social equity.

Evidence-based practices are essential to the work Rhysalin has done and continues to do. Her therapeutic approach is client-centered with heavy emphasis on Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectic Behavior Therapy (DBT) as well as mindfulness and meditation. The practices are combined to assist the client in achieving the goals they set for themselves and their relationships with others.

Outside of her work, Rhysalin enjoys video games and has an eclectic taste in music, movies and books, with particular interests in animation, horror, and comedy. She is deeply devoted to her wife and chosen family. Their love and support are Rhysalin’s foundation.
